You have to know that smoking is bad for you. Did you know that recent studies have suggested that female children of smokers are more likely to get breast cancer than kids who come from non smoking households? And these children didn’t smoke! There is no way you couldn’t realize this.

Why should you stop smoking? Apart from the health benefits, you will save money. Have you ever worked out exactly how much your cigarette or cigar habit is costing you? One suggested way to quit is to put the money you would normally spend into a jar and when it is full buy something that you have wanted for ages. Don’t pay off credit cards or bills the first time, you can do that later.

There are many ways to quit smoking. There are stop smoking pills, patches and even laser treatments. When it comes down to it, you have to want it enough to do it yourself. Finances are another area that improves immediately when a person stop smoking. The cost of a pack of cigarettes these days is astounding. The fact that smokers continue to pay it is proof of the strength of the addiction.

If you’ve been a smoker for many years, then you need to regain your health immediately. The average smoker spends $30 a week on their habit. That is over $1,500 a year. That is money that could be spent on much more constructive things or money that could go towards bills and life expenses.

How you look at becoming smoke free will make the difference in beating this one: if you look at it as giving something up, and a difficult task, then that’s what it will be. If, on the other hand, you see it as a relief, as getting rid of something bad, it will be much, much easier.
