Proof That Obstacles Can’t Hold You Back

Friday, February 26th, 2010

It doesn’t matter what level of success you’ve achieved, failure will come walking to your door anytime you start to hold back. If you don’t put your heart and soul into something, failure will follow. To experience a new level of life, try this exercise to help you learn not to hold back:

1. What in the past have you wanted to achieve, made a couple steps toward it and then, pulled back? It is in this area or thing that will show you are not putting your heart and spirit into all the way. You could succeed in this area if you would allow yourself to stop holding back.

2. Write a brief statement (3-4 paragraphs is enough) about what would happen if you didn’t hold back and went all the way for this goal or desire.

3. Make a list of three things that you in the way of you accomplishing this desire.

4. Write three action steps toward your desire that you could accomplish right now.

5. Make a commitment to do at least do these three things. No more and no less-just these three things.

Emotional Quotient

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

No matter how intelligent you are, there is another way to predetermine your success and happiness you are experiencing in life.

No matter just how gifted you are, there is something else which will predetermine the happiness and success you are experiencing in life.

Actually, there is one main thing that will override everything else in life, and this one thing will predetermine what you can expect for all outcomes in your life.

You may be asking what that one thing is. It is the most important thing a person can work on to improve their life. It is the Emotional Quotient-EQ.

Around twenty years ago, there was some Social Scientist who were researching the elements that some people used to become more successful than others. While researchers looked at many different aspects of successful individuals, ultimately they began with Intelligent Quotients (IQs). It did not take long before these scientists found individuals with very low IQs, who were not only successful financially, as well as with their relationships, but the entire chart in regards to happiness. It became obvious that IQs were not a predetermining factor. Nor were the many other factors they studied and compared in successful individuals.

Getting Clear on Your Fear

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Do you know when fear is holding you back?

I don’t. At least not always.

When I realize I’m fearful, I find it reasonably easy to face. I can experience it and determine whether it’s something I need to pay attention to or move through it.

But when I DON’T notice my fear, I’m in danger of having it sidetrack me and my objectives.

Our first line of defense is to be aware and be conscious of our fears-to get clear on what it is that’s causing our fear. This kind of inquiry is often more challenging than you might think. Our fears can be slippery little devils.

And this is where many people stop. They’re simply unwilling to determine what the real fear is. They remain in denial. But when we get clear, we can go to the next step.

We can begin to determine if the fear is rational or irrational. Most of our fears are not legitimate, but some are. If you find yourself on an unstable perch, a healthy fear of heights is a good thing indeed.
