The Many Uses of Fish Oil

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Smarter children and hyperactivity/poor focus are common concerns in children often due to low levels of EPA and DHA in their bodies. Obesity in the United States is rising in children due to their high levels of insulin and/or glucose levels.

One factor that will help to maintain a healthy weight in children is to take Omega 3s. This is a “healthy fat” that is necessary for children to have adequate levels in their system. It will facilitate neuronal activity in the brain, which translates to a better functioning brain. Your child will have fewer cravings for sugar when there is “healthy fats” combined with proteins and carbohydrates.

This it how it works… when the stomach receives my fish oils, it sends a chemical messenger called “cholecystokine” into the system where the message is received by the hypothalamus, and the brain ‘tells’ the child they ‘are full’, they no longer crave as many sweets. Consumption of sweets results in obese children and/or hyperactive ones. Lack of adequate ‘fish oil’ causes behavioral patterns that are non-productive for the child and quite disturbing to the parent to witness. My fish oils will help produce a ‘calmer child’ and watch how much better your child performs in school because their focus is better! My fish oils help coat the myelin sheath or fatty layer surrounding the neurons in the brain. Omega 3’s are like a super conductor! They will promote the transfer of messages much more rapidly to the brain!

With the increasing rise in society of obesity, cancers and heart disease there has never been a better time to promote and increase the intake of fruit and vegetables.

Consuming juices is a relatively easy way of getting your quota of vegetables and fruit. The Centre for Disease Control recommends that we should eat around five to nine servings of vegetables and fruit per day. Doing this with juices is easy but is also fun and refreshing which is great for kids.

Juicing allows the nutrients to be absorbed. Normally, most of the important nutrients such as vitamins, phytochemicals and vitamins are trapped in the fibrous tissues and cannot be broken down and released in the gut. Juicing breaks down these fibrous elements and allows these nutrients to be released and quickly absorbed into the body.

Fatigue in Early Pregnancy, Can be Normal or it May be a Sign You are Nutritionally Depleted

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Is it normal to have fatigue in early pregnancy? Read on to discover why fatigue in early pregnancy happens and what you can do to make sure you are not nutritionally depleted.

Pregnancy is an amazing event in a woman’s life. No matter how long or how hard we study pregnancy we will never fully understand why women get so many very early pregnancy symptoms such as pregnancy fatigue.

From the moment of conception, the developing fetus needs lots of vitamins and minerals to ensure normal cell and organ growth and to prevent congenital abnormalities. As the developing fetus grows it also grows a living organ called the placenta, that allows vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, oxygen, nutrients, hormones and blood to cross from the mother’s blood supply to the developing fetus.

Mothers are givers by nature and during pregnancy they unconditionally and continuously give all their reserve nutrients to their offspring in an attempt to grow a healthy baby. Under normal pregnancy this is be a huge physical drain on the mother’s physical energy level and this is why pregnant women are given pre-natal vitamins.
