Lego Star Wars Figures Collectables

Friday, December 25th, 2009

When the first Star Wars movie came to the big screen in 1977 and became an overnight phenomenon, it brought with it a parade of merchandise that became an instant hit. The response was sudden and unexpected which created a scramble to meet the demand for Star Wars toys. Ever since then, Star Wars toys, especially the Lego Star Wars figures, have been a hit and true fans have been seriously collecting them.

These figures are by far the most popular Lego figures that have come out. Most real fans collect these figures and keep track to make sure that they have all of them. Since many have come out, there are a lot to keep track of.

1999 was the year that the first Lego Star Wars series came out. More have come out every year. There are both figures and vehicles from both of the trilogies that have come out. They are very realistic for being Legos.

The Lego characters are still in the classic Lego shapes, just a few alterations have been added to make them look like Star Wars characters. Some, though, have special molds that the company uses to make their head shapes and sizes. The Darth Vader, for example, has a unique mold. The figures also have light sabers.

The Lego Aeroplane: How easy is it to Build?

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Watching my ten year old son sit for hours recreating scenes and objects from his imagination using lego brings back memories of my own childhood (over twenty years ago now ). I remember how much fun I used to have creating things with lego. My favourites were building houses and villages and then re-enacting stories and movies I had seen.

I watched him building an aeroplane one day and realised that he didn’t actually have a lego aeroplane, all the sets and bricks that had been passed down from both myself and his dad, together with all the sets of his own, he didn’t have any official lego aeroplanes.

I decided to look online straight away to see what I could find and was amazed to discover how many sets there actually are. Duplo have a My First Plane for the very small children and each of the various lego branches have their own plane sets. I found that the Temple Escape set for Lego Indiana Jones has a small aeroplane to build, the Lego Star Wars and other space sets have space ships and planes to build but by far the most is the Lego City with its airports all equiped with the necessary planes, cargo planes, passenger planes, even old propeller planes can be built using lego.
