Illness, stress, high metabolism and skipping meals are the major reasons why people are underweight. Most of the skinny people also follow a diet that is very low on nutrition which again makes them underweight.
Anorexia is a disorder in which one (predominantly women, although men are not immune) has a distorted body image and always sees his/herself as fat no matter how much weight they lose. Anorexics frequently starve themselves to lose weight.
These people may suffer from memory loss, lose their hair and can end their life with failure of vital organs like heart, kidney and liver.
