How To Play Endeavor

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

New Zealand had a long history of innovation, so it’s nice to see Endeavor, the board game, begin to turn heads internationally. Released by Z-Man Games, Endeavor was created by Carl de Visser and Jarratt Gray from Wellington, New Zealand.

It’s the century of conquest and new lands lie just beyond the newly accessible oceans. You are a country set on Empire and your attempt to build this as quickly as possible, bringing power, glory and — importantly — cash to your country. You can negotiate or go to war, strip land of resource or bring together peoples, but you must open the sea lanes and start trading. Unparallelled wealth is available … are you strong enough to seize it and build your endeavor?

Your mission starts with the creation of sea lanes, which allow access to far off countries. Or at least around the Mediterranean. Once you have reached there, it’s up to you to deploy your resources wisely and make the most of every opportunity. Strategy is balanced against strength; wit against war as you endeavor to build and hold sway over your Empire. It is important to find a good combination of techniques, as there is no simple path to world domination!

How Garden Ponds And Koi Ponds Can be Incorporated Into Your Garden Plans

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Building garden ponds and koi ponds for your landscaping ideas can be pretty easy as long as you know how to go about doing these things. One of the key things you will need to do before you do start building these fishponds is to make ample research and carefully plan how you are going to build them. Knowing what such a project entails will help you make easy work out of this, and you will soon find yourself and your family enjoying the fish that are now happily swimming around in the pond that you just made for them and for your garden.

Some of the things you need to do first when you are thinking of putting garden ponds or koi ponds into your landscaping ideas is to first decide where you will put your pond and to decide on how big a space your pond will eat up in your gardening plans. Once you have that out of the way and you have the space allocated for your garden pond, you can then start brainstorming ideas on how you will build your pond and how you would like it to look. You can ask the help of a professional landscaper about this if you find that this endeavor seems too challenging for you or you can do your own research and check out pond sites and koi sites for some input.
