I’ve been looking around online the last few days, making an attempt to discover how to mend my Xbox 360. I have had my console since launch day two years ago, and it is usually worked fine. Then a last week, without warning, it just died on me. I know lots of other people who’ve had it happen to them, so it was not a total surprise. But that doesn’t make it any better to accept.

Obviously my guaranty’s expired, so it was no good going to Microsoft to mend my Xbox 360. I found out they’d do it, but it would end up costing me something like $140 to get it done. And that doesn’t even include shipping. Anyway, they told me it would take up to 8 weeks to get back to me, and I just didn’t want to be without it for that long.

So that’s why I have been looking around on the web. I’d come across some sites that claimed to supply techniques to mend Xbox 360s. One of them suggested I wrap my console in a towel. I am nearly embarrassed to claim I tried it, but I was desperate to get my Xbox up and running again. As you can possibly guess, it didn’t fix my Xbox 360.  Read more...

Destroying the Competition in PvP Season 5

For the most part, Season 5 of the Arena has been called many things, but it’s clearly how Blizzard intends to test PvP situations that it couldn’t otherwise test. It has seen many changes in the hope to balance classes and create better competition.

What You Can Expect

This time around, the Resilience in your gear has been turned down so that it won’t have an effect on your perfromance – at least not like before. You’ll need about 1200 Resilience at Level 80 to do any mitigating damage, but in Season 5 your gear will cap out at about 900. Season 5 is more damage and burst oriented than any season since Season 1.

You can find Season 5 gear in one of three different tiers. After running some instances and picking up Emblems of Heroism, you start to get your PvP gear. You can turn these in with your honor points in order to get gear that doesn’t require Arena points. You’ll also find that the cap on high end PvP gear has been lowered to 2050. Now more people will have access to the gear before they hit 2100.

Air conditioners have always been popular, but they used to be pricey to buy and expensive to run. These days they are cheaper to buy. It is not so bad if you live somewhere where you need heating for three months and cooling for three months, but if you live somewhere where you have one unit or other running twenty-for hours a day, seven days a week, it is still costly.

However, the luxury that they impart to your life is remarkable. But, the thing to remember is that air conditioners, like all machines, do require servicing. That is, the actual moving parts, lubricants and other fluids have to be checked professionally every two years (or whatever it says in your handbook). There are other parts though that have to be checked far more often than that – maybe even monthly.

The good news is that you can carry out this maintenance yourself. I am talking about the filter. All good, modern air conditioning units come with an in-built filter. It depends on the sophistication of your air conditioner, what its filter can trap, but most will filter small particles such as pollen and traffic pollution out of the air it is circulating in the room.  Read more...

The e-cigarette initially launched in 2003 was developed by the SBT Co. Ltd. based in Beijing, China. Ruyan stepped in following the product’s launch to provide additional development of the technology and proceed to introduce electronic cigarettes to the European market in 2006. Promotions in Europe called e-cigarettes “Electro fags”. It was clear the public was ready for e-cigarettes.

The first electronic smokes were not envisioned as a replacement for tobacco product. The concept was to provide a nicotine delivery system that smokers could use to soothe their need for a “fix” when they were in situations or locales where smoking tobacco was unacceptable. Marketers trying to sell electronic cigarettes quickly began advertising te products as a way to quit the tobacco habit. This did not gain approval from the e-cig manufacturers and was quickly condemned by the World Health Organization. The safety of electronic cigarettes had not been thoroughly tested and the WHO claimed there was no proof as yet of any benefits to users.

Some smokers think of their e-cigs as a hobby but not a habit.
