Wall wine racks are not difficult to include in your decor. A lot of these racks can be customized to your particular tastes and look particularly nice in the kitchen, too.

You can do this using paint and decals. There are also wall wine racks that come with a door on the front. These racks appear to more like a cabinet than a wine rack.

Wine racks come in many different sizes, some of them can hold as many as 6 bottles, while the larger ones can hold up to 100 bottles of wine. When you mount your wine rack on the wall, you will save valuable counter space as well.

You will obviously need to have more than an ample amount of wall space if you want to mount a rack that will hold quite a few bottles of wine.

Design The Perfect Kitchen

When designing a kitchen it is important to know some facts about the recommended measurement to ensure that you can work as easy as possible. This article gives you 10 important guidelines for your kitchen design project.

1. The work triangle, which is the space between the refrigerator, sink, and stove should be 26′ or less with none of the sides longer than 9′, or less than 4′.

2. In kitchens smaller than 150 sq. ft., opt for at least 13′ of base cabinets, 12′ of wall cabinets, and 11′ of countertop. In kitchens which are larger, go with at least 16′ of base cabinets, 15 1/2′ of wall cabinets, and 16 1/2′ of countertop.

3. Plan you work aisles no less than 42″ wide if you are one cook and 48″ if you are more than one in the kitchen.

4. Plan you sink so you have at least 24″ of counter space on one side and 18″ on the other.

5. To have the best landing when you are unloading groceries, you should have at least 15″ of counter space on the handle side of the standard refrigerator. If it is a side-by-side model, have the space on both sides. Or maybe even better, have a landing area directly across (no more than 48″ away) from the refrigerator.  Read more...

Shop for a sturdy cabinet. Dovetail joints are a good sign; inspect for other signs of quality workmanship. If shopping in a store, give the stand/cabinet a nudge and see what happens. If you’re shopping online, sift through reviews and watch for complaints as to lack of sturdiness.

As far as materials, keep them to a minimum. If your room primarily contains wood, shop for wood of the same type. (In other words, if you started with maple, stick with maple.) Steel and glass pair well so if you started with one, the other will be a match. Keep within the same colour palette; though steel and brass are both metals, they don’t pair well.

Shop for something that wont consume the allotted space. A cabinet or armoire will be very likely to visually devour the space, particularly in smaller rooms. Darker colours will also be more dramatic so if you decide to go with a darker colour in a smaller space, it is a good idea to choose a smaller piece.  Read more...
