Wooden Bikes Are Much Better Than Training Wheel Bikes

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

You may have noticed a number of the youngsters in your neighborhood riding on wooden bikes lately. No, we’re not taking a step backwards, we’re actually finally taking a step in the proper direction. These wooden bikes are referred to as either running bikes or balance bikes and they are designed to help your child have an easier transition to a real bike. These wooden bikes are also very durable and light weight making it that much easier for you kid to learn how to balance himself.

One of the first things you may notice is that wooden bikes haven’t any pedals. Learning how to pedal is a pretty basic skill that almost all kids will pick up within minutes. But the largest challenge is learning the way to balance themselves on a 2-wheeled bike. In the past we’ve given our children bicycles with training wheels to help them make this transition but those training wheels really defeat the purpose. Your kid learns to depend on those training wheels to keep him up rather than learning how to balance. And that is why so many kids are frightened and have a difficult time learning the way to ride a real bike.

Schwinn Midmoor Men’s Hybrid Bike

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

I am really lucky with the bicycle Schwinn Midmoor Men’s Hybrid Bike. The bike is stable but comparatively light. If anybody’s searching for a step up from a primary ride-it-sometimes bike, this one is fantastic. If you’re still only going to ride it sometimes, then why bother?

It’s a slight heavy to be named a road bicycle, which is likely why it’s not, and I’m still curious why precisely there needs to be a suspension (which must have added a fair share of useless weight). Besides, the handlebar isn’t as adjustable as most would like, and if you’re 6 tall and one of those people who likes their legs to be fully extended when pedaling, it might not be possible on this bike. Frame looks very stable and strong, yet light aluminum. After a professional tune-up (and the 2 components above replaced), the bike is handling fantastic.

The shifter is a solid Shimano gearshift (but not their greatest of course, this is a $240 bike). The gearing changer is a standard Shimano touring, but still a Shimano. Really easy to assemble. It is mostly gathered at the base. You will need to have the brake system and gears aligned, and the wheel trued.

Diamondback Wildwood Deluxe Men’s Comfort Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

I could not be luckier with my purchase of Diamondback Wildwood Deluxe Bike. I needed a bicycle I could ride to work on, but I don’t like the unusual bowed handlebars on ‘road bikes’. I can seat upright so it feels better on my back. It’s had a super range of gears so I can ride hills or trails with comfort. Wonderful bicycle and this is an amazing price. Saving a lot of money on gasoline, and feeling healthier too! I purchased the Diamondback Wildwood Deluxe and it runs perfect for me.

As a bike rider for long time I preferred a hop on bicycle mostly for when I preferred a relaxed bicycle to pedal neighborhood tracks and fast trips to the local store. The Diamondback Deluxe gave me all that plus wonderful handling, so comfortable and fun I look for excuses to jump on and ride it. I’ve never had a more comfortable ride.

This is Diamondbacks top of the line comfort bicycle, the trigger shifters are a wonderful advantage over the handgrip shifters on worse models, as well as the chassis, derailleurs, and all other components. Generally this bicycle is dealing for what the whole lot steel model runs for, and is much better then it.

Get the Most from Your Bike

Friday, March 5th, 2010

More than a few people have joined the ranks of cycling enthusiasts and become backyard bike riders. Using your bike, instead of your car, has become a very trendy way to travel. There are so many benefits to riding your bike, even casually, that recent surge in popularity is not surprising.

If you are using a comfort bike or cruiser, you may want to look into adding a basket to the bike. It is a great place to store some biking essentials. Travel wipes or baby wipes hide a multitude of sins and solve as many problems. I usually prefer the flushable or biodegradable type. These wipes can be used to freshen up if you are perspiring, wipe down your bike, or to cool off your bike seat on a hot day.

Sunscreen is no longer for the very fair-skinned. Skin cancer has become increasingly more prevalent and should not be overlooked. There are misting sprays, keychain containers, moisturizers with SPF 15 and lip balms that are designed to protect your skin. If you bike is the type with limited space to store items, you should definitely protect yourself before you leave for your ride Don’t forget the tops of your ears and the backs of your knees. Nothing will keep you off your bike faster than burned knees.

Review for Ladies Schwinn Roxie Cruiser

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Ladies Schwinn Roxie Cruiser bike is a nice bike for the price. It is a real showpiece, a classic in style and looks. It absorbs shocks from the road well, and it picks up speed quickly. The handle shifter is easier to use than the thumb shifters are. It shifts smoothly. The seat is wide and comfortable. Overall, this is a nice bike for short rides around the neighborhood. I wouldn’t want to try it on a long ride as it is heavier than a road bike.

I wanted an old stile looking bike. Upon seeking Craigslist and Google, I saw that most vintage/vintage-style bikes cost a whole fortune. I saw this bike in an Amazon website and I went immediately attracted to the fun appearance and low price! The bike came very promptly; was well packed and a great treat for me.I’ve experienced Schwinn Roxie Cruiser bicycle for about a month now and I am really lucky with it! Really easy to ride, and in my impression, is a wonderful deal.
