Cry for Me Billy: A drifter falls in love with an Indian gal, with catastrophic repercussions, in this vicious Western. Its title and supposed year of release keeps changing, however the film doesn’t get some any better. Cast includes Harry Dean Stanton, and Don Wilbanks. (93 minutes,’72)
From Russia With Love: Second James Bond film is one of the best; lots of anticipation and action, and one of the lengthiest, most arousing fight scenes ever orchestrated. Lenya makes an extremely wicked spy flick. Cast includes Sean Connery, Daniela Bianchi, Latte Lenya, Robert Shaw, Bernard Lee, and Lois Maxwell. (118 minutes,’63)
Underworld: Evolution: The war between the Werewolves and the Vampires rage on. Now we look back to the beginning, and see how the feud between the two races began. A confrontation that started way in the past is about to be brought into the present day to conclude here.
The illustrated Man: Youthful drifter Drivas meets tattooed man Steiger, who is looking for the strange lady (Bloom), who “illustrated” his whole body. The drifter sees futuristic stories in three of the illustrations, most of which include megastar Steiger and, or Bloom and Drivas. The film is a disheartening, dull-paced adaptation of short stories from Ray Bradbury. Cast includes Rod Steiger, Claire Bloom, Robert Drivas, Don Dubbins, Jason Evers, Ton Weldon, and Christie Matchett. (103 minutes,’69)
The Kingdom: This four hour film is essentially 4 Danish Television shows strung together, set and shot at the genuine Nationwide State Health center in Copenhagen. It is known as “The Empire”. As essentially every critic has pointed out, this is ER meets Twin Peaks, with crackpot physicians, supernatural goings-on, sex, black humor, etc. A must for those who imagine they’ve seen everything.
