Are you finding it harder and harder to find the time to say fit. Does you check book see the gym more than you do? Ever thought to yourself, “there has to be a more convenient way to stay in shape” but ruled out home fitness equipment due to the cost and the space needed to have you own home gym? What if I told you, you could get a full body workout in the comfort of you own home for less than $1000.00? With something that will more than likely last you the rest of your life. Interested? Read on.

I am a 40 something year old man. I have a bad knee from an old motorcycle accident. I had problems with lower back pain. (do to my beer belly I’m sure) Because of my pains, it was very hard to participate in high impact sports like running or basketball. Even softball was a challenge. For years I would start my new workout plans only to stop after a week or two due to the pain. I tried joining a local health club to participate in other low impact activities such as swimming and weight lifting. But, after driving there, waiting in line to use the different machines it was taking too much time away from my family.

Joining a health club. I tried joining the Y.M.C.A so that I could do other low impact aerobics activities such as swimming, and weight lifting. Soon after joining I was finding it harder and harder to make it there. Dealing with traffic to get there. Then dealing with over crowding in the gym. Waiting in line for the piece of equipment I wanted to use. God, what a hassle! And don’t forget the expanse of it all. Needless to say I canceled my membership before it ever really got started.

My wife brought up the idea of a treadmill or something to that effect. I ruled out the treadmill right a way because I knew I couldn’t run on it. Due to the pain in my knee. So I kept a look out for an affordable option in the classified adds. I found a person selling a Nortictrac not far away from where we lived. I had never used a Nortictrac before so the guy let me try it before a bought it. What a disaster! After about 5 minutes and nearly falling down once, I decided that the Nortictrac was not for me.

The home gym? I thought about a treadmill but I just couldn’t see spending that kind of money just to go for a walk in my basement. “Maybe a Nortictrac.” I said to myself. I found a used Nortictrac in the news paper and went to go have a look. The guy selling it was nice enough to suggest I give it a try. 5 minutes later and falling on my butt once, I came to the conclusion the Nortictrac was not for me.

After doing a great deal of research i had found that elliptical trainers come in many different shapes and sizes. As well as many price ranges. Many of the home versions of the elliptical trainer were just cheaply made with limiting options. The so call club class models were too expensive and way too big for the space I had to work with. Then I found the Lifecore line of fitness equipment. They have put a great deal of thought and engineering into there products. I finely decided on the Lifecore LC-985VG Elliptical Trainer because of its versatility, size and options fit me perfectly.

The morel of my story is, Life is too short to merely watch from the sidelines. When life knocks you down, get back up and meet the challenge that comes with each new day.
