Aladdin – Disney’s animated Arabian Days tale is polished through the sensibility of an old Warner Bros. animation, as Aladdin brings up a Genie who’s exploding with shtick. Williams’ entertaining fast fire chatter forms the attraction of this otherwise conventional tale, colorfully (and tunefully) shown. Cast includes Voices of Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Frank Welker, Gilbert Gottfried, Douglas Seale and the harmonizing voices of Brad Kand and Lea Salonga. The Sinister Urge – Committed cops Duncan and Moore set out to bash the “smut film racket,” which is run by a loud blonde. Illustrates with complete certainty how photos of chubby women dressed in only their underwear can be a primary cause of adolescent wrongdoing. China Nine Liberty 37 – This is a puzzling Western in which railroad tycoons spare a man from gallows in trade for killing another gunfighter. The gunfighter’s girlfriend falls for the murderer and helps do his evil work. Title refers to the signpost giving distance to 2 nearby towns. Cast includes Warren Oates, Fabio Testi, Jenny Agutter, and Sam Peckinpah. (102 minutes,’78)
The Music of Chance – A thriller in regards to telepathic, suicidal Ivanek, powerless to command his powers, who moves his bad dreams to shrink Harrold and causes pandemonium in a clinic. Cast includes James Spader, Mandy Patinkin, M. Emmett Walsh, Charles Durning (98 minutes,’93)
Cry the Beloved Country – Moving redo of the’51 film based on Alan Paton’s rejoiced novel, in reference to a backwoods pastor (Jones) who, in’46, makes his first ever trip to the city of Johannesburg in search of his wayward child. At the same time prosperous landowner Harris voyages there to claim the body of his child, who has just been murdered. We see exceptional work by Jones, Harris, and a largely foreign cast. Not as understated as the first making, however powerful in its own way. Cast includes Richard Harris, James Earl Jones, Charles S. Dutton, and Vusi Kunene. (120 minutes,’95)
I prefer to save movies to the computer in the beginning and then transfer them to the game console. This way I have my music in both places and I have a back up on the computer in case an error occurs when transferring the files to the game console.
